The quality of the firm’s work was recognized early in its history. The firm’s founder, Kevin M. Forde, was selected by a group of federal judges to serve as lead counsel in their case against Congress and the President for withholding pay increases due the Judicial Branch.
At the conclusion of the case the group reported to every federal judge, all of whom benefitted from the work:
“In retaining counsel for this cause, we were aware that they would be required to argue a major constitutional issue in the Supreme Court of the United States in a case which pitted the Judicial Branch of government squarely against the other two Branches. We knew also that the cases would be bitterly contested. In this assignment, we insisted upon the engagement of counsel who could and would conduct the action with appropriate dignity and in a manner consistent with the highest standards of the legal profession.
In this regard, our expectations were not disappointed, as counsel ably represented the interests of the entire Judiciary and the American people in accord with the high standards these circumstances demanded.”

“The briefs at every stage of these proceedings were outstanding as was every other aspect of counsel’s work.”
Federal Judge Stan Roszkowski, in awarding fees: Counsel “pursued these cases in an unexcelled manner. The reputations, experience, and skill (of counsel) are superior.” Will v. United States, 99 F.R.D. 336, 343 (N.D. Ill. 1981).- Federal Judge Stan Roszkowski
